All right, everyone who loves either of the Dames (Judi Dench or Maggie Smith) has to go watch this. I know its a limited release, but if its in your area do yourself a favor and go. I loved it. I haven't read the book its based on, but given the movie I will be doing so as soon as I can get my hands on it. The cast is brilliant Judi and Maggie are joined by Billy Nighy, Tom Wilkinson, Penelope Wilton (Downton Abbey), Celia Imrie (Calendar Girls), and Ronald Pickup. The whole cast play off each other brilliantly. The Dames only have a couple scenes together and truly Maggie steals the show. The ever amazing Judi Dench (Evelyn) narrators the story and is, like most characters Judi plays, someone you want as your best friend, kind and sweet with a bit of spunk, and I feel in love with her immediately. Maggie, I have to admit, steals most of the scenes she is in and carries most of the comic relieve in the script. She is also brilliant. Billy Nighy, who always surprises me, was a brilliant leading man (I'll let you figure out for whom). 

Overall it was worth the $10 dollars I paid for it and the couple extra miles I had to drive to get to the closest movie theater showing it. So 10/10 stars for the film. I truly hope they make more films with the great British actors.

P.S. Or side note. If you're under 55 years old (I'm 26) you might find yourself feeling a little out of place with the target audience, but brave it because its more the worth it. 

So, lately I've been obsessing about the Tudors. I'm finding it hard to find any good movies and books. I've seen the TV show and I've read The Other Boleyn Girl but thats as far as I've gotten. Any ideas? 

According to FF.net's numbers I managed to publish 10 new stories last year and continued 1 from 2010. That's not bad really, but I'd like to do better. So, for this year I'd like to publish at least 15 stories and finish any previous stories (I think there is one I need to finish). Another part of this is to post all stories written this year here as well as FF.net, since it'll keep me coming back to lj and active. Wish me luck :) 

Found my notes (as in handwritten) for the first ten chapter of my MM/HG fix 'Facing the Past'. I've been thinking about rewriting the whole thing to see if it would help me finish the story, so it's a nice/convenient coincidence. 

So almost I month gone of the new year and I've yet to change my layout. Don't know if I will. I sort off had given up on livejournal back in October, but discussion is so hard on FF.net and I have mod responsibilities here so I guess I'm sticking around for now. 

New Project: I was thinking of see/review/ranting about any and all shows or movies with a lesbian couple be it subtext or not. Thing is I need a list first so send me anything you can think off either here or at tweeter (mara_coco11). 

PS...will start posting some of my stories on here again. Just don't know when or which. 

PS2 The accomplished bit is cause I finally finished my MM/HG story "Unhappy" which might be the longest fic I've written to date. Yay me!

So I'm digging through the internet minding my own business when out of nowhere a new obsession shows it's cute face(s). Cagney & Lacey are on netflix instant play. I play the last instantment/movie from 1995. While its playing I'm on youtube looking for anything on them and I get a vid Cagney/Lacey kind of vid that hits all the right femmeslash spots. Anywho now i'm making my way through the episodes of a show film before I was born. Also I gues it doesn't hurt that I have an obsession with Tyne Daly thanks to judging Amy. I LOVE her and Sharon Gless isn't bad either.

Star Trek: Voyager just became available on Netflix instant play. I am so freaking excited! I'm probably going to be doing a little marathon tonight. Also Harry Potter DH 2 will be out in seven days. I'm so HAPPY!
